Recommended Use:
Ethidium Bromide can be used to detect both single-and-double stranded nucleic acids (both DNA and RNA). However, Ethidium Bromide does not intercollate into single-stranded DNA very well. Therefore, the fluorescence of single-stranded DNA is relatively poor in comparison to double-stranded DNA.
Protocol: The recommended final concentration of Ethidium Bromide in agarose gels and electrophoresis buffers is 0.5 ug/mL.
Storage: Store at room temperature. Protect from moisture.
Warning: Poison/Suspected mutagen. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing dust. Do not take internally. Wash thoroughly with water after handling. See Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
